Mailbox Monday (05/11/09 edition)
Mailbox Monday is brought to us by The Printed Page. In my mailbox last week I got:
Virginia's War by Jack Woodville London (won on Unusual Historicals)
Mrs's Reppert's TwelveMonth Herbal by Bertha Reppert (won from Patti's Potions)
These books were purchased online from Barnes and Noble:
Flirting with Forty by Jane Porter (Bought because I turn 40 this year, and the book was at a great price!)
A Gift of Grace by Amy Clipston (I'd love to read about the merging of the Amish world and the "English" world when an Amish woman takes in her two teenage "English" nieces after their mother is killed)
Hot Blooded by Lisa Jackson (for my Lisa Jackson challenge)
The Rising by Brian Keene (for a what I hear is a good zombie read)
I also allowed my addiction free reign, and bought a bunch of books on clearance at the stores:
Between the Tides by Patti Callahan Henry
Eye Contact by Cammie McGovern
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
John's Story (The Jesus Chronicles, Book 1) by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins
Learning to Breathe by Karen White (I'm especially looking forward to reading this one)
The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 1) by Rick Riordan
The Secret Bride: In The Court of Henry VIII by Diane Haeger
The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes by Diane Chamberlain (This is supposed to be a really good book!)
I'm going to try to get my addiction under control! I'm going to try to convince myself that I cannot buy any more books (1)until I have read at least twelve books from my shelves, (2)unless the book is needed in order for me to complete a challenge. Wish me luck!

Ooh, you have several books I'm interested in reading! (And I agree, Learning to Breathe looks good!) Enjoy!
That's one week??? I'm so jealous, lol. Enjoy!
Wow! That is quite a haul! Good luck with not buying more - sometimes it just feels good to fill (or over-fill) your bookshelves :)
That's a lot of new books! I really liked The Historian even though I never, ever read vampire books. That one snuck into my TBR stack somehow. But I thought it was excellent.
Wow, you had a great mail day.
Virginia's War looks really interesting - and I love the cover.
Looks like you got a lot of great books that I have never heard of before.
One I do have, though, is The Historian. I've had that one for awhile. I haven't been able to get to it yet.
You had a terrific week!
I simply loved Flirting With Forty! And I love the cover of The Secret Bride - what a beautiful cover. :)
Here's my Mailbox! ~ Wendi
I don't know how I missed that mailbox yesterday! Love it :)
I see so many that I want to read!! Wish I could reach into the screen and pluck them out!!! Have fun!
