We've been asked to share a memory of Dewey, who started the Read-a-Thon. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to get to know Dewey, as I just got into blogging this year, but I did have the pleasure of joining in the last Read-a-Thon, which I understand was the first without Dewey. She seems to have been something of a pioneer in the book-blogging world, and we all get to benefit from her efforts and love of books.
So here's to Dewey! Thank you, Dewey, for fueling the book blog world and starting something so profound that people want to carry on your efforts even after you are gone.

Good post. I did not know her either but her spirit certainly lives on in those who did.
What a wonderful post! I love your last two sentences. :D
Aw, we all miss Dewey. She was great. Have fun with the rest of the RaT!
Nicely said. I didn't know her either, but she does seem like a pioneer in the world of book blogging.
This is a great post.
I wanted to let you know that I quoted from your post honoring Dewey in last April's readathon. It was about Dewey's reaction to part of Steinbeck's East of Eden. You and Dewey both agreed with something I really liked.
I hope that's okay with you.
It's here in my blog:
Dewey
Very nice tribute post! She was a great lady and I love your final thoughts, that really is amazing isn't it? :D
Well said. I never "met" Dewey either, but she must have been quite a person.
Like you, I didn't know Dewey, but I do feel her impact on the book blogging world.
I like your idea in your last post about changing in comfy PJS; think I will do that soon! Enjoy the rest of the readathon.
You are really doing great! Isn't the time flying by? I am starting to feel exhaustion setting in, but blog-hopping is helping. Keep up the good work.
